HAPPY MONDAY!

Happy Monday, Fam!

Mondays are our day of rest; but I’m usually still up very early. Most times, I knock out the writing, then retreat the rest of the day.

This morning, however, I had an interview to finish for a mag article coming out in November. It’s a good one, Fam. 800,000 readers. They wanted to know about Hollywood Christian and what we’re doing out here in LaLa Land. What a blessing! I’ll let you know when it’s avail!

Then, we had to get our sink fixed, though Kevin handled most of that drama.

You see the picture above?
That’s what happened to me yesterday when I turned on the faucet to wash dishes. Water went everywhere – on me, over the counters, on the floor, under the sink. Everywhere! By the time I got it off, I was wishing I had on my bathing suit. LOL!

Who needs an outside sprinkler when you can slide across your own kitchen floor?
The element of surprise mixed with just the right amount of dazzle and flood factor… Now we’re talking!

OK, so I’m making light of the situation, but isn’t this exactly how we can choose to approach our Mondays, or any other day of the week? Faucet hoses wear out. Pipes burst. Earthquakes shake. Stuff is going to happen. We have no control over that. But how do we respond? That’s what we can manage.

If you’re having the type of day where your faucet has turned into a sprinkler, you can:
1) Go get a bathing suit and mop, put on some music and dance the water out the door, OR
2) Mope, pout and curse, and then go get the mop… cause the water still has to be cleaned up.

Proverbs 17:22 says “A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

Choose joy today, Fam.

And if you can’t run through some sprinklers with someone you love, spray yourself or your fam from the kitchen sink.

DISCLAIMER: Though, if you’re married to a sister, make sure she hasn’t just gotten her hair “did”. That could prove problematic. Just saying.

Happy Happy,
Naima
