Sunday, we brought our God-given dreams before the Lord.

Before we prayed for our dreams, from all over the world, I preached from Genesis 37-41 about Joseph, his dream, his journey, and all the bumps along the way.

Here is a short VIDEO excerpt from the sermon at H0PE IN THE HILLS. I think it would be fun if we call this little clip “Sometime’s it’s best to run” because it’s about Joseph facing temptation.

Joseph has already been double-crossed and sold into slavery by his own brothers. The Egyptian, Potiphar, buys Joseph and puts Joseph in charge of his entire household. Then, Potiphar’s wife wants in on the action. This is where the video picks up.

Many times in our own lives, we face all kinds of obstacles and temptations on the way to the dream. What are you facing today?

Be encouraged. Press through. You’re on your way,
Naima

  1. Naima,

Thank you for this. I’m so glad I listened. I’m in the “prison stage” of my dream to be sure. And I know I must wait for his timing. It has been a very difficult week for me. Lots of tears, stress and frustration. Thank you for reminding me that I’m on my way.

    love,
    K

    1. Hi Katelyn,
      You’re welcome, Lady.

At some point, I believe we all go through that ‘dungeon-type’ stage on our way to the fulfillment of our God-given dreams. It’s really the ‘testing’ period where we get to see what’s really in our hearts. What is so encouraging to me is that God still blessed Joseph while in the midst of being in prison and made him successful to the point that he was appointed ruler within the prison. Every step of the way, Joseph was still doing what God had gifted him to do. Having proved that he would be faithful, even in prison, Joseph was elevated, in God’s timing, to do exactly what he had been doing while he was in prison… which was exactly what he had seen in his dream from the beginning: ruling.

That ‘prison’ stage is not wasted, nor should we despise it. It’s our training ground. And whatever we’re doing while we’re tucked away from sight will be exactly what we’re entrusted to do when God opens the curtains and reveals us for His glory! I guess my point is: while on our way to fulfilling the dream, are we faithfully doing what we’ll be doing when the dream is fulfilled?

I see you. You’re doing it.
      Go forth!
