About Naima Lett

Naima loves helping folks find their purpose and follow their dreams while deepening their faith. Often called The Hollywood Christian, she believes everyone should find a reason to dance daily, enjoy the 80 degrees and a breeze of the LaLa at least once, and have her Grandmother's bread pudding or sweet potato pie on holidays. Both are divine! :=) -- Dr. Naima Lett, Author: Confessions of a Hollywood Christian, CoPastor: Hope in the Hills, Beverly Hills

  1. Dear Naima,
I knew your husband had cancer. I just had no idea how young you both were and how serious his cancer was and that you faced this trial as you were going through seminary. I remember seeing you do the Five Women of the Bible at IBC at the end of the year for the women’s bible study. I was truly moved especially by the Tamar piece because incest is my story as well. I went on to lead Shelter from the Storm a support group for sexual abuse survivors and I would always show your Tamar piece in week 6 of 14 as the story was mentioned in that chapter of the study guide. Watching you act out Tamar’s heart breaking, soul ravaging story helped to break through their defenses and allow them to grieve and to be outraged not just for Tamar but for themselves. I am now at DTS getting my MABC as I feel like God is calling me to counsel women who have endured sexual abuse especially as children. God has comforted and healed me in so many ways and now He is asking me to walk alongside other women to give them comfort and hope for healing. Reading you and Kevin’s story reminds me that God does indeed use ALL things for our good and the good of others. Thanks for saying YES to Him. His Light shines brightly in and through you.

    1. Wow, Mary. What an incredible testimony yourself. Thank YOU for sharing, and thank you for being willing to reach back and help others. Congrats on pursuing your MABC. I am sure the Lord will use you to help many, many women. I am so encouraged. Thanks again for being so transparent. You will be in my prayers as well as Shelter, your studies and your ministry. Wonderful!

  2. It is wonderful that you are sharing your story. You don’t know how many people it helps when you share your experiences with others. Trust me when I am done with my trial, you and Kevin can give me a call at anytime. I have been very blessed to to come this far but I needed to hear what you had to say.
Love you both and stay Blessed

    1. Thanks so much, Will. Great to hear from you, Man.
And yes, Kevin and I look forward to hearing your story, so keep us in the loop! :=)
May you be strengthened and lifted along your journey.
Lots of love from the LaLa! Go forth!

  3. I love how positive you and Kevin are! You have such a fantastic perspective on life and that while you are still on the earth, you will do whatever you can to honor God and make Him known. We should all strive to have the same mindset as you two have. Praise God for your amazing story!

    1. Thanks, Hannah. We’re so grateful to be highlighted and continue to ask the Lord to use all the ups and downs of our story to encourage others. Thanks also for sharing your story at Hope recently. All who were present appreciated your transparency and care. Mad appreciation. :=)
