Future president, John Adams, wrote about the creation of the Declaration of Independence, that the day “will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

Let’s do it, Fam.

In the midst of our pomp and parades, games, fireworks, bonfires and barbecues, let’s remember this as a day of deliverance, and say a very special thank you to God Almighty!

PSALM 107
(Excerpt)
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe…
6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress…
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings
and tell of his works with songs of joy.

Let’s give thanks!
Have an awesome holiday,
Naima
