EVEN DOGS PRAY?

I came across this image online and stopped:

All I could think is, “If man’s best friend can turn his face toward heaven, certainly we can!”

What’s on your hearts, Fam?
It’s middle of the week. Made it through another month. What do we need to lift up before our heavenly Father who loves us?

Paul encouraged his readers to replace worry with prayer. We can do the same!

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

And Paul wrote this letter imprisoned. Just before he says, “Don’t worry”, he says, “Rejoice”. Almost makes me want to ask, “What type of prison service did Rome have?”

But that’s not it at all. Paul does not allow his circumstances to dictate his responses. Even imprisoned, he says to others, “Hey, don’t worry. Pray. And God’s peace will keep you.”

Be encouraged, Fam.
Let’s worry less. Pray more.
It’s a choice.

Let’s follow Lassie, Toto and Scooby-Doo, if need be, or our wonderfully committed canine friend above (blogger Jeter did not include his name).

What’s on your heart?
Let’s lift it up,
Naima

  1. Dreams that have gone unfulfilled. I have a prayer request God is not granting and I am anxious i think about it all the time and i am not asking God again for it because one He doesnt grant selfish desires and two HE already heard me and I feel like in my gut asking Him again would be like asking my mom for bread pudding for the umpteeneth time after she has already said NO!. I am worrying that God will never grant it and i have to be content with Him being in control of my life and not me. Its very worrysome and I dont feel in control of my life. sometimes i feel like GOD is like holding the keys to my car He has in the garage and HE’s like nope, I’m just going to see what you are gonna do, but HE most DEFINATELY is the type of parent that will take the car back to the dealer and say, sorry. It makes me anxious and i dont want to think about it i WANT to want God’s will but truly I want my Own more many times. Help!

    1. Morning Allison,
I hear you, Lady. I actually think though that God does not have a problem with you continuing to lift up your prayer request in faith, whatever it is. There are plenty of scriptures that tell us to keep on praying, pray without ceasing, keep on ‘asking, seeking, knocking’. Jesus tells a parable in Luke 18 about a relentless widow in order to “show them (his disciples) that they should always pray and not give up”. Thankfully, the Lord does withhold from us what He knows will harm us i.e. Luke 11 (snakes, scorpions, etc.); but He’s also a loving Father who provides all that we need. He blesses a whole lot more than He confiscates. LOL! Hang in there, Lady. And keep praying until you hear an emphatic YES or NO. If you don’t get a clear, absolute “NO”, keep lifting up your requests. He’s a doting dad who wants the very best for His children and you are precious in His sight. Choose to pray instead of worrying. We want that beautiful complexion of yours to remain wrinkle free. :=)
