How do you prepare for a super storm?
Many of our East Coast fam facing Hurricane Sandy are finding out.

Some have evacuated. Others are hunkering down in the crib.
Food. Check.
Water. Check.
Prayer. Check.

We’re praying for you too…
That you won’t be flooded out or iced in or harmed in any way.
We’re praying for your life and safety and protection.

I found myself saying similar prayers during Hurricane Floyd’s flood several years ago. As I waded through thigh-high water in our NJ basement trying to save ballroom gowns and text books, I kept praying that the water wouldn’t reach the electric box. It stopped just short.

There was much damage, but we had our lives. That’s what seemed to matter most at the time.

Lifting you up

We had an awesome celebration yesterday of our first year as Hope in the Hills, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. But today, let’s focus our prayers on our brothers and sisters in the path of the storm.

Today let’s lift up this song on their behalf:
Psalm 121 NIV
A song of ascents
1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you—
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

As you prepare for the 75 mph winds and rain, know that we are praying for our God to keep you from all harm and watch over your life.

Lots of love from the LaLa,
Naima
